Our History
From a Dutch baker arriving in Curaçao to the largest bakery and restaurant supplier in the Dutch Caribbean.
1988The Journey Started
Martien Driessen moved from the Netherlands to Curaçao. He started working as a baker and gave courses to teach Curaçao baking skills, gaining extensive experience in the bakery world.
1996Caribbean Bakery Supplies
As a consultant in baking supplies, Martien saw a big demand for a wholesaler specializing in bakery supplies. He founded Caribbean Bakery Supplies on Curaçao, which became successful very quickly.
2001New Branch Aruba
Caribbean Bakery Supplies opened their branch in Aruba. In 2006, Martien expanded to both Bakery and Restaurant supplies, now also offering a wide selection of kitchen supplies and equipment in Curaçao.
2012New Branch Bonaire
Caribbean Bakery Supplies expanded its business with a branch in Bonaire. Recognizing the significant demand from this island, establishing a local store proved to be a wise decision.
2020More Than 400+ Brands
Now more than 24 years in business, CBS is a well-established name in Curaçao, Aruba, and Bonaire, supplying restaurants, hotels, catering companies, bakeries, and home bakers with over 4,000 products.
2022A New Journey Begins
As of October 1, 2022, Marc Sprengers, together with partners Erik Baas and Justus K. Martens, became the new owners of CBS, continuing to build on the foundations laid by Martien Driessen.
